Here is a bunch of hints and tips for Penguin Puzzle, some written by us and some submitted by players. If you have a good strategy you would like to share, please email me and I will put it up here.

Hints and Tips for Beginners

1. Detonate three squares in a row to get a Power Cube
On the 'easy' setting, always try to assemble three almost-done squares, then detonate these three in sequence. This way you will receive a Power Cube! On the 'easy' setting, you won't receive a Power Cube if you only detonate two squares in sequence, and nothing extra will happen if you detonate more than three. Note that on the harder settings, you may need to make more than three squares in a row to receive a Power Cube - it's up to you to find out!
2. Sneak your cubes into the incoming patterns
If some of the incoming cubes are of the same color and next to each other, try to sneak in a third cube of that color. This way you will have an almost-done square when the new cubes appear.
3. Keep an eye on the Level Meter when the level changes
Whenever you move to a new level, the level meter at the bottom of the screen is cleared. A message will appear there telling you how many levels are left until the next bonus level.
4. When do Bonus Levels appear?
Every five levels. Keep an eye on the level meter when the level changes.
5. Watch out with the Tornado Power Cube
It's good to keep this one until you're almost blocked. Watch out though, it's a two-edged knife. It can also destroy your carefully planned almost-finished-squares!
6. When easy is really easy
We've made the 'easy' setting really easy, so anyone can enjoy learning the game, and more advanced players can play without risk of getting stuck. However, you may want to try the 'medium' or 'hard' settings for more of a challenge! Select them on the main menu...

Hints and Tips for Advanced Players

1. Save up your Power Cubes - but not for too long!
Often it is wise to save Power Cubes for a time when they can make the biggest impact. However, don't keep them until you hit a Bonus Level, because then they'll be lost!
2. When in doubt, just make pairs
If it looks like you cannot make a square, or you will need too many moves to do so, just make pairs of cubes of the same color. Soon you'll notice you have a lot of almost-done squares, which you can then detonate in sequence to receive a Power Cube!
3. Keep a clear path
Sometimes, when you are preparing a Bonus Shape or a sequence of squares, the board may become a bit 'crowded'. Always do the best you can to avoid trapping a bunch of cubes in a corner of the board. Detonate a single square if you need to, use a Power Cube, etc. Avoid at all costs to trap your cubes. Freedom of movement is the secret!
4. Detonate the rocks
On the advanced levels there will be some rocks which can't be moved, and can't be used to make squares. Try as soon as possible to detonate these rocks with a single Dynamite Power Cube, or perhaps with the Tornado Power Cube. Using the Tornado to do this is a lot harder, but it's worth it even if you only blow up one of the rocks!
